Maintenance Technician

This is position is 1st shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician at Manitou is responsible for performing preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks including troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. You will quickly become known as the “go-to” and “fix it” team member. Each day you will be challenged to contribute to the success of our overall business!


Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Certificate and a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Ability to use measuring and diagnostic tools to test, modify, or repair electrical equipment
  • Ensure systems and components meet established specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and schematics
  • Knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to use hand tools required for electrical and mechanical repairs
  • 3 years experience working directly as a CNC Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or production facility
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Programming PLCs
  • 3 years experience working directly as a CNC Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or production facility
  • Welding and fabrication experience


Essential Duties and Technical Qualifications:

  • Trouble shoot, repair and support production equipment for the machining, and assembly of products.
  • Primary focus will be to maintain, repair and perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance activities on basic assembly equipment.
  • Work with all power levels and different kinds of AC and DC motors, controllers, generators, transformers, electronic controls, PLCs, and electrical hand tools;
  • Participate, implement, and support preventive maintenance programs
  • Follow safe work practices. (LOTO, Arc Flash, etc.)


LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE: Direct reporting relationship with Maintenance Supervisor Capable of independently managing projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, and pull. The employee will be required to lift 50+ pounds, and work at an Elevation of 3 feet or greater.
